Khalid Jamil prepares for survival battle against "solid team" DSK Shivajians

MUMBAI FC are in a tight situation as they take on DSK Shivajians in their last league match on their home ground. Still engaged in a battle to avoid relegation into the 2nd Division, the Cooperage-based club will look for at least a point from this game in order to finish above Aizawl FC.

Mumbai FC coach Khalid Jamil said about the game,

"It is an important match for us. There is added pressure as it is the last match and we want to give nothing but the best."

He further added that DSK Shivajians, who are playing their very first season in the I-League, have come out as a competent and solid team,

"DSK are a very strong team, the last match that we played against we lost and that was our first loss. After that we have gone down too much but tomorrow we would like to give our best and have the result in our favour."

The positive sign for Mumbai is that all the players are fit which will be a boost for their confidence. After a winless run of more than 2 months, they regained some confidence after the victory in their last home match against Shillong Lajong.

When asked if he had any regrets looking back at the season, Khalid replied,

"At present there is one motive ahead of us, think about tomorrow's match. What happened in the past, there is no point thinking about it. After tomorrow we shall see what would the next be for us. We are just aiming for positive result at the moment."

Khalid was also full of praise for DSK coach Derrick Pereira,

"Keeping the match aside, it's always a pleasure to play under or against coach Derrick. He always fields a strong team making it difficult for the opponents. It's tough but also enjoyable at the same time."
