If Mumbai sustain themselves for next season, would love to be part of it: Oscar Bruzon
MUMBAI FC lost their last I-League match against East Bengal at home on Saturday 0-4. The team was already relegated last week but they had a chance to give their fans something to cheer.
But it turned out to be a nightmare. Head coach Oscar Bruzon who was appointed with only four matches to go tried his best with what he had but in the end, could not change the team's fate.
At the post match press conference he said,
"Give us the number 9 and number 10 and I'll give you a better result. I think that was the difference between us and East Bengal."
Though his team was on the losing side, he was all praise for the Indian players in the squad.
"Yes, in the foreigners department we lacked depth while East Bengal aced it but if you compare the Indians in both squad, they were at par. Hitesh, Pratesh, Farukh, Prateek and others performed decent. They were not bad, it is just that we lacked in some departments but I would not want to give excuses here."
To conclude, he said,
"I hope Mumbai still continues to be around next season because a lot of players have come out from this academy and if they sustain themselves, I would still love to be part of the system. Then I assure you, that you will have results."
Mumbai have a chance to finish in the 9th spot provided Minerva Punjab drop points against DSK Shivajians later today. But they would still be relegated as the Ludhiana team are a corporate entry.
