FROM THE 19 INDIAN para athletes that took part in last year’s Paralympics, it was a major increase in the Indian contingent that participated in this year’s WPAC.
Indians bagged five medals with every Indian para athlete ranking among the top 10 in the world.
India had its best ever show at the World Para Athletics Championships as our Para athletes bagged five medals in various events. With the biggest ever contingent at any Para Athletics event, the athletes didn’t disappoint. The first one was bagged by Sundar Singh Gurjar as he won Gold in Javelin throw F46 event. The other medal winners are KaramjyotiDalal, Sharad Kumar, Varun Bhati and Amit Kumar Saroha. With this performance, we can surely expect more medals in the upcoming competitions!
