31 Indians will be part of World Para Athletics Championships that begins today

THE OPENING CEREMONY of the 8th World Para Athletics Championships will take place at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London today. These Championships are scheduled from July 14-23, 2017.

The best Para Athletes of the World will take part in these Championships including 31 Indian Para Athletes which will try their best to bring the Gold for their country.

Today’s schedule will include events of strong medal contenders like Sundar Singh Gurjar and Virender along with 4 other Para Athletes.

Last year, in the Rio Paralympics, India's contingent had 19 delegates. It was India's best performance clinching four medals which included two gold, a silver and a bronze.

Mariyappan Thangavelu, Devendra Jhajhariya, Deepa Malik and Varun Singh Bhati were the winners of medals at Rio.
