Bronze medallist Karamjyoti Dalal was ecstatic about her win; credited her father and team

LEARNING FROM MISTAKES can be a great lesson, F-55 discus throw Bronze medallist Karamjyoti Dalal has learnt. A foul throw against her at Rio Paraylmpics 2016 made her realise that it can be a game-changer.

World Para Athletic Championships 2017 Bronze medalist Karamjyoti Dalal

Last year at the Rio Paralympics, Karamjyoti had three unsuccessful throws. However, the 30-year-old learnt from how her throws were declared as fouls, making no mistake this time around. So, when she was placed in fourth position after her throws, she did not lose hope. The Chinese para-athlete in the third position appeared to have made a foul throw by Karamjyoti and her team. This lead to appealing from the Indian team and to their confidence the decision turned in favour of Karamjyoti and the Bronze was awarded to her vide the disqualification of the third-placed para-athlete.
