Khalid Jamil regrets dropping points against Sporting, looks for full points against Aizawl FC

MUMBAI FC head coach Khalid Jamil said he regretted not bagging all 3 points against Sporting Clube de Goa at home in the previous game, and said the injuries have had a role to play in their run of draws at home.

Speaking to reporters before going up against Aizawl FC at Cooperageon on Wednesday, Jamil said,

"We would have loved to have all 3 points against Sporting but the situation turned when we went a man down... even after going a man down the team performed well and scored a goal to take the lead. So we were satisfied with the point."

Jamil spoke about the injury problem prevailing in the squad, with some key players having to miss out on crucial games in the league already,

"We have had lots of injuries but players are coming back. Son, Arata & Taisuke will be assessed tomorrow, & I hope they will be fit."

But after making a few mid-season signings, Jamil said he believed that Mumbai FC have acquired the required depth to overcome this situation,

"If not we do have players who can step up in Sandip & Darren and fill the role. In defense we have Naoba & Nabi who can play anywhere."

He acknowledged that a win at home against Aizawl FC was a must if they wanted to turn their campaign around after being winless for more than a month,

"As for the game tomorrow, I hope we put a good show and get all three points."
