Ashwin unsure if CSK will have the same combination when they unite in 2018

RECENTLY, former BCCI president and owner of defunct IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings, N Srinivasan, had confidently stated that his side will make a return to the cash-rich league in 2018.

CSK along with Rajasthan Royals are currently facing a two-year suspension since July 2015, following the involvement of respective owners in illegal betting. The two teams were replaced by Gujarat Lions and Rising Pune Supergiants before the start of Indian Premier League 2016.

India offie Ravichandran Ashwin, who played a key role for CSK in the previous seasons, represented the Pune franchise in this year’s IPL. The Tamil Nadu-born spinner had subdued performance in the league. However, he regained his form with India’s tour of West Indies and even earned the Man of the Series award for his impressive all-round performance.

Ashwin, who is in a stellar form on the field as well as on the social media, recently opined about the reunion of the Chennai franchise in 2018. An enthusiastic CSK had asked Ashwin whether the team will reunite in 2018 in the same fashion. To which, the 30-year-old said that there was uncertainty surrounding the future of the two teams.
