AHEAD OF THE Asia Cup final, both India and Sri Lanka have been hit with injury concerns.
Selectors of both national teams have had to bring in a late replacement to their squad just before the all-important continental championship finale.
Axar Patel was injured during the match against Bangladesh when he was hit in the wrist by the ball while taking a run. He continued playing with a pain-relieving spray but subsequently he has been ruled out of not only the Asia Cup but also the upcoming ICC World Cup.
BCCI have decided to fly out Washington Sundar to replace him in the Indian squad ahead of Asia Cup final. Who replaces him in the World Cup squad is yet to be seen.
Meanwhile, hosts Sri Lanka also got a blow when Maheesh Theekshana pulled his hamstring during their Super Four match against Pakistan. He will be unable to compete in the Asia Cup final and the Sri Lankan selectors have decided to replace him with Sahan Arachchinge.
