Presence of pink ball in Duleep trophy to depend on top players' opinion: BCCI

THE BCCI has revealed that it won't be going ahead with pink-ball in domestic first-class tournament Duleep Trophy without considering the opinions of the top Indian players. The Board had earlier announced that all the matches of the competition will be played at Greater Noida stadium in Uttar Pradesh.

As reported by cricbuzz, a top BCCI official stated,

"The top players will have to give their opinion on the pink ball before a Test match under lights with it is scheduled."

The domestic tournament is likely to feature the likes of Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara, who are currently a part of the team preparing for the fourth Test against West Indies. It is learnt that the board is keen on pushing other players to take part in the tournament in order to get accustomed to pink ball cricket in India.

The top governing body is yet to seek the opinion of the three captains of the Duleep trophy teams- Yuvraj Singh, Gautam Gambhir and Suresh Raina.
