Indian umpires earned close to Rs 40 lakh from the ninth edition of IPL

THE DISCLOSURE of latest salary figures of Indian umpires has illustrated that the cricketers are not the only ones who find Indian Premier League (IPL) as a lucrative tournament.

As reported by PTI, Indian umpires CK Nandan, Anil Chaudhary and C Shamshuddin were paid a hefty sum of Rs 40 lakh for officiating in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016. 

While Chaudhary, who hails from Delhi, has officiated in 39 IPL games, 17 ODIs, and 17 T20s, CK Nandan has supervised in six ODIs, seven T20s and C Shamshuddin has stood in 17 ODIs and 12 T20s. 

Chaudhary earned Rs 39.63 lakh while Nandan and Shamshuddin, who are also in ICC's Elite Panel, were paid Rs 40.83 lakh each. K N Ananthapadmanabhan received Rs 26.65 lakh for his match official’s duties.

Meanwhile, former India pacer Javagal Srinath also received in excess of Rs 26 lakh.
