Karman Kaur loses to Bolkvadze in R2 of girls singles at Wimbledon

INDIA’S KARMAN KAUR THANDI has fallen to Georgia’s Mariam Bolkvadze 6-4, 2-6, 2-6 in the second round of the girls’ singles event at Wimbledon today.

Both girls started off by holding their service for the best part of the opening set. However, the lanky Indian got the crucial break at the decisive moment to nail the first set in the bag.

Unfortunately, in the second set, Karman started spraying the ball around to commit 17 unforced errors and pushed the match to a decider.

In the final set, Karman struggled to get cheap points on her first serve and also continued to be inconsistent in her shots. In the end, she was eliminated from the tournament in just over two hours.
