Venkatesh Prasad applies to take over the reins of Indian team

WHO THE NEXT COACH of Indian cricket team will be is developing into an engrossing drama after former India paceman Venkatesh Prasad revealed that he also had applied for the high profile job. As reported by PTI, the India stalwart confirmed,

"I have applied this morning."

Prasad, who is currently the chairman of the BCCI junior selection committee, is keen to get back to the coaching role.

According to deccanchronicle, the India veteran is also open to becoming the bowling coach of the national team if he is not made the chief coach. The 46-year-old was bowling coach of India between 2007 and 2009 and also worked for IPL teams like now-defunct Chennai Superkings and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

With India cricket heavyweights like former team director Ravi Shastri and Selection committee chairman Sandeep Patil in pursuit of the role, Prasad is set to face a stiff competition.
