Combination of ‘coach’ Dravid and ‘in-form’ Kohli bound to do wonders for team India, says Watson

FORMER AUSTRALIAN ALL-ROUNDER Shane Watson believes Rahul Dravid will do an ‘incredible job’ if he is appointed as India’s head coach. RCB's marquee player further added that the combination of Virat Kohli’s form and Rahul Dravid’s experience is guaranteed to bring a successful outcome for the Indian team. Watson reckoned that it will be a great learning curve for the youngsters to work under Dravid.

As reported by cricinfo, the 34-year-old said,

"There is no doubt that he will do an incredible job if he gets the chance to coach India and also with Kohli who is continuing to grow in this IPL as a leader. He is an incredible man. He has an amazing amount of experience to pass on to the youngsters."

Watson, who played alongside Dravid for the now-defunct Rajasthan Royals also revealed that he learnt a lot from the legendary Indian batsman.

"I was very fortunate to know him well while working with him at Rajasthan Royals (first as the captain) and (later as the) mentor and then learning about his cricketing abilities."
