Unhappy with our fielding performance against Pune, says MI skipper Rohit Sharma

MUMBAI INDIANS beat Rising Pune Supergiants by eight wickets as team skipper Rohit Sharma played a match winning knock scoring of 85* in 60 balls. The defending champions sealed their fifth win after chasing Pune's target of 160 with nine balls to spare. However, there were a lot of misjudged catches and misfields by the Mumbai side.

The 29-year-old was all praise for the bowlers but wasn’t happy with the team’s fielding. As reported by cricbuzz, Rohit said,

"One part where we are focussed on is our fielding, there are no excuses there. We have to be the best fielding team in this whole competition. We have discussed that at the beginning of the tournament. Batting and bowling are sometimes not in your hands, but fielding is. So, I think, we have to put in a lot of effort, and guys are doing that in their training, sometimes, as I said, it comes off and sometimes it doesn't. Obviously, (there were) a lot of dropped catches, mis-fielding. At the end of the day, it's a sport and everybody is trying to give their 100 percent. Today, wasn't the day for the fielders."

Mumbai Indians batting coach, Robin Singh also spoke about their fielding woes against RPS.

"Nobody goes out to drop a catch and we are all annoyed when catches are dropped. I don't think anyone goes out there to embarrass himself, to put it like that."
