Wicket at the Chinnaswamy is perfect for the batsmen, says DD wicket-keeper De Kock

DELHI DAREDEVILS' WICKET-KEEPER BATSMAN Quinton de Kock described the Chinnaswamy pitch at Bangalore as an easy wicket to bat on as he scored a hundred to take his side over the line in the game against the Royal Challengers Bangalore last night.

As reported by PTI, De Kock said,

"We were confident of chasing 192 because it was gettable on a batting track like this and to achieve that we focused on saving wickets till the end trying to capitalize by accelerating in last overs."

Chasing a stiff target, De Kock began the innings in a  fluent fashion, helping his team reach the fifty mark inside five overs, but immediately lost the wicket of Sanju Samson in the next over.

The arrival of Karun Nair proved to be a blessing in disguise as the pair quickly realised that the total was within range as the wicket was flat to go with a quick outfield.

"We (De Kock and Karun) knew the boundaries are going to come because it is such a good batting wicket and quick outfield, he said.

"We focused on ticking the scoreboard regularly by hitting into the gaps, and we just carried out playing on like that and got away. So that is all about it," De Kock added.

The Protean highly valued the knock as it came in a big run-chase, but still doesn't rank it as one of his best.

"I enjoyed this innings thoroughly. I wouldn't say it is up there, but enjoyed it especially chasing down the total like that," he concluded.
