Prithvi Shaw puts on a show in English List A cricket; scores double century in just 129 balls

PRITHVI SHAW MAY not be favoured for a place in the Indian team right now, but the Delhi Capitals star is making it rain runs elsewhere in the world.

Playing in List A 50 over competitions for Northamptonshire, Shaw took the field by storm today as he whacked Somerset bowlers all over the park.

He put in a hard shift, scoring 244 runs in a memorable innings. He got to his double century in just 129 balls; and by the time he left the crease he had scored the sixth highest individual score in List A history.

His innings was the backbone for the Steelbacks' innings which ended at 415/8. In reply, Somerset fell short by well over a hundred runs.

It's performance like this that turns things around in a player's career. Prithvi Shaw has not played for India in over 2 years, but he is just 23 years old and has a steady home in IPL at Delhi Capitals. Now, as he is proving his mettle in foreign soil, that does make him a more attractive prospect to look at for the selectors.
