I felt naked without my gloves at the Eden Gardens: Jos Butler

ENGLAND WICKET-KEEPER Jos Butler made his presence felt in the IPL yesterday after playing a breezy innings (41 off 22) to help the Mumbai Indians beat Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens.

However, Butler played the game without having to don his wicket-keeping gloves, owing to which the explosive cricketer got the feeling of being naked on the cricket field.

Parthiv Patel was given the responsibility to keep wickets and Butler had to move around the field at regular intervals.

Speaking to IANS, Butler said,

"I felt naked running without my gloves on. But I have fielded before, so after some time it was okay.”

Butler further added, that the presence of skipper Rohit Sharma helped him finish the innings better.

"It's great to have Rohit at the other end. He's a very calm character. He had everything under control, and the way he was playing he obviously had a lot of confidence that he will be there till the end and win the game. That obviously rubbed off on me that he was in such good form and was so calm, I think that got the adrenaline going. It really settled me down."
