Kohli becomes No 1 in World T20 rankings

INDIAN VICE-CAPTAIN Virat Kohli has gone up the ladder to become No. 1 in the World T20 rankings, while India stays at No. 1 in team rankings.

As reported by PTI, Kohli's average in the current World T20 is 92, scoring 184 runs in four innings at a strike-rate of over 132. He had entered the tournament 24 points behind Aaron Finch, but now has a 68-point lead over the Australian.

Ravichandran Ashwin has lost the top spot in the bowler's rankings, dropping to No. 3 having taken four wickets in four games. He has replaced by West Indies' Samuel Badree who has scalped six wickets in four matches.

Four of the top five sides in the rankings have qualified for the two semi-finals at Delhi and Mumbai respectively.

Number-one ranked India will face third-ranked West Indies at Mumbai, whilst second-ranked New Zealand will face fifth-ranked England at Delhi.

The point-difference between India and the West Indies is seven after the latter gained two further points in the ongoing tournament.

Among the Indian bowlers, Jadeja's four wickets in four matches have moved him up three places to seventh, Bumrah's three wickets in four matches have lifted him 13 places to 13th and Nehra has leaped 14 places to 16th following his four wickets in as many matches.
