I see a bit of Tendulkar in Kohli every time he walks in to bat: Steve Waugh

FORMER AUSTRALIAN CAPTAIN Steve Waugh feels Virat Kohli reminds him of Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar when he goes out to bat. According to Waugh, Kohli is the current best T20 batsman in the world.

As reported by OneIndia, Waugh said,

"The greatest T20 batsman right now is Virat Kohli. He has an average of over 50 and an amazing strike rate. I see a bit of Tendulkar in him every time he walks into bat."

The 1999 World Cup winning captain feels Kohli's aggression is at par with a lot of Aussies. In recent past, he's one of the few Indian cricketers who sledges back at the opposition, especially against the Australians

"Kohli is a lot like an Australian player. He loves playing against Australia and loves the aggressive Australian crowds. Kohli is the ultimate cricketer but the only question for him is if he can keep his cool under pressure," the 50-year-old said.

There's no doubt Kohli's had an excellent career-run so far, but still has a long way to go to match up to the Master Blaster's batting records.

Tendulkar has scored 100 international hundreds, whereas Kohli's just on 36. Even though Kohli is scaling new heights rapidly, one shouldn't forget that Tendulkar's career spanned over 24 years in international cricket. In comparison, Kohli is only in his eighth year at the highest level. .
