We are expecting spin to play a major part today in Nagpur: Williamson

NEW ZEALAND SKIPPER Kane Williamson is expecting the wicket at Nagpur to spin as the Kiwis clash against the Indians today in the World T20 super-10 opener. However, the opener also said, that his side taking the field will be a dangerous one.

As reported by Deccan Chronicle, Williamson said,

"We certainly are expecting spin to play a big part in this tournament. I suppose judging by the warm-up games in Mumbai (against England and Sri Lanka), they had a bit for the seamers and it swung a little bit. They were very good surfaces but from what cricket we have seen here in Nagpur, spin looks likely to play a big part. It's important that we adjust our game plans accordingly,"

On paper, the Indians look much superior than the Kiwis, but the key contest will be between the Indian batsmen against the New Zealand bowling. Tim Southee and Trent Boult will look to get early breakthroughs so that the strong Indian middle-order can be put under pressure.

The Kiwi batting is full of big hitters, especially in the middle-order with the likes of Corey Anderson, Ross Taylor and Colin Munro. It will be a challenge for the Indian spinners to contain them.

Overall, it’s going to be cracker of a game to kick-off the World T20. The Black Caps will also observe a minute's silence and will sport red armbands during the match in memory of Kiwi legend Martin Crowe.
