Yuki, Saketh win their R2 matches, will lock horns in the quarters of ATP Zhuhai Challenger

INDIA’S TOP SINGLES PLAYER Yuki Bhambri has successfully booked his place in the quarter finals of the Zhuhai ATP Challenger by beating Ti Chen 6-3, 6-1 round two today.

In the first set, the Indian won a major chunk of his first serve points and kept exerting pressure on his opponent. Yuki broke Chen’s serve twice to take the opener. In the second set too, the top seed continued to attack Chen’s serve and closed out the match in an hour and 15 minutes.

Yuki will be satisfied that he could save all the three break points on his serve and at the same time also managed to win games on his opponents serve.

Meanwhile, Saketh Myneni fought through a tough challenge of Australian Luke Saville 7-6 (4), 7-6(4) to progress into the quarters. In the opening set, both men couldn’t break each other and the set then had to be decided by a tie-breaker. In the second set, both men broke each other once, but yet again it was a similar story.

In the quarters, both the compatriots will lock horns against each other. Saketh/Yuki are also playing together in the doubles.
