Not answerable to critics: Dhoni

INDIA'S LIMITED OVERS SKIPPER Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Tuesday dismissed a query whether his breezy knock in the Asia Cup final was a reply to critics, asserting he was unperturbed by criticism.

Dhoni said criticism would always be there, but it was his job to play the role that he was supposed to. He smashed a seven-ball 20 to help India win in Dhaka.

"I am not here to give answers to anyone. India losing the Asia Cup to Bangladesh would have been a bigger news than India actually winning it. So I feel there are people to talk about lot of stuff but my job is to play the role and responsibility that I have," Dhoni told mediapersons in Kolkata.

"There will always be criticism, because people may feel that something should have been done this way or that way, but my job is to play my role and responsibility," he added.

Dhoni of late has repeatedly faced posers on whether he was considering retirement.

He had lost his cool when such a question was lobbed at him last month ahead of the team's departure for Dhaka for the Asia Cup twenty20 and asked a reporter to not keep repeating questions on his retirement.

Dhoni, regarded as one of the best finishers ever in limited overs cricket, had blazed 20 of only seven deliveries in the final against Bangladesh to carry India to a title finish last Sunday.
