Bhupathi/Bhambri beat Sood brothers for a quarterfinal spot at ATP Delhi challengers
INDIAN TENNIS LEGEND Mahesh Bhupathi and Yuki Bhambri have beaten Chandril and Lakshit Sood 4-6, 6-1,10-2 in the opening round of the men’s doubles at the ATP Delhi challengers today.
After losing the first set, Bhupathi/Bhambri hit back with a clinical performance to win the second set and forced the match into a decider. In the final set, the more experienced duo continued their dominance and shut the door on the wildcard entrants in an hour and 18 minutes.
The Sood brothers struggled with their service games, committing a series of double faults and were also unable to convert their break-point chances.
Bhupathi/Bhambri will now play Yannick Mertens and Stephane Robert in the quarterfinals.
