I didn't know that it was a hat-trick until my mates informed me: Thisara Perera

SRI LANKA MIGHT HAVE LOST the second game of the T20 series against India, but the visitors were thrilled and excited after Thisara Perera got his hat-trick yesterday. The all-rounder also became the first Lankan to achieve this feat in T20 internationals. Bowling his seamers, Perera picked up Yuvraj, Raina and Pandya in the penultimate over of the Indian innings.

In the past, Perera had also taken a hat-trick against the Pakistanis in an ODI game. However, Perera had no idea about his accomplishment yesterday until his team-mates informed him. As reported by PTI, the 26-year-old said,

"Actually, I didn't know that it was a hat-trick. Because that time my concentration was about my death bowling. My teammates told me I got a hat-trick. Then I thought it was very good for me."

Perera also admitted to the fact that India outplayed Sri Lanka in all the departments and it was sheer domination from the hosts.

"You don't lose a match because of one reason. India batted well and took the score to almost 200. And then we lost the momentum. In fact, they took away the match in the first six overs. We gave a little bit momentum to them in the first six overs, and after that they got everything.”
