'Is Amla batting or buffering?' Hilarious Twitter reactions to batsman's blockathon innings

DAY 4 OF THE final Test between India and South Africa saw an unexpected twist, as the Proteas batsmen managed to play out an entire day of Test cricket.

For the first time in the Test series, cricketers and fans will witness the fifth day of a Test match, thanks to Hashim Amla and AB de Villiers' snail-like batting that stood between India and a victory on the penultimate day. In what was an absorbing day of Test cricket, Amla and AB looked like they had suddenly discovered the formula of batting on Indian pitches.

72 runs were scored in as many overs, with Amla scoring 23 runs off 207 balls, and AB catching up with 11 off 91. The run rate in the final session was a mere 0.97. South Africa had a mountain of chase before them, and it looked like they were in no mood to go home early.

What followed was a series of jokes on Twitter that made fun of South Africa's unbelievably slow batting and even put the tortoise to shame.
