If PCB wants Indian players in PSL, we will look into it: Rajeev Shukla

IPL CHAIRMAN Rajeev Shukla has said that the BCCI is open to considering requests from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) regarding the participation of Indian players in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Shukla said although they haven't received any such request from its Pakistani counterpart, the Indian board will definitely look into it if they do.

PSL head Najam Sethi had hinted that he was keen to have Indian players in the T20 league slated to begin on February 4 in the UAE. The PCB hasn't revealed any details about the league, its broadcasters or the title sponsors.

The BCCI's player policy doesn't allow Indian cricketers to participate in any foreign T20 tournament, but Shukla said a request from PCB would be looked into.

Speaking about the controversial India-Pakistan series, both boards have apparently agreed to play on neutral land in Sri Lanka, but it is yet to be confirmed.

"We understand the predicament of Pakistan cricket but at same time I think the PCB needs to realise that they have to draw a line somewhere when it comes to playing its home matches in UAE," Shukla said, as reported by PTI.

Shukla also advised Pakistan to look at creating a safe venue in their own country, so that other Test playing nations, including India feel safe to play cricket in Pakistan.

"We would be willing to play in Pakistan at such a safe venue if the appropriate security assurances were given to us and the ICC also got gave security approval," he said.
