YOUNG ACE: Pranjala wins u-16 Future Stars title at WTA Finals in Singapore
PRANJALA YADLAPALLI won the Under-16 WTA Future Stars tournament held in Singapore after beating Hyeran Yun of South Korea 6-2, 6-0. The numbers speaks for itself; the game was dominated by the young Indian.
The second seed was confident about her performance,
"Yes I played really well and then after I won the first set I was confident and then it was easy."
The match took place on the centre court which is the indoor main court. Yadlapalli was beaming with excitment.
"Playing in the indoor main court the finals where all the pro players like Serena and all play it was really awesome," she said.
To add to her joy of winning the title, she was presented the trophy and medal by Chinese tennis star Li Na.
At the WTA Finals draw ceremony in Singapore, Yadlapalli and Mahak Jain were presented a racket by tennis ace Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis.
About meeting Santina and Li Na, she says:
"It felt good interacting with them, I am really happy. Overall it was a wonderful tournament and a great experience."
