Canada's opener Danielle McGahey to become first transgender person to play international cricket

DANIEL McGAHEY HAS become the first trangender player in the history of international cricket.

The 29 year old Canadian has been selected to play for the women's national team in the upcoming ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifiers (Americas group).

The tournament will kick off from 4th September with Canada vying for a spot in Bangladesh 2024 along with Argentina, Brazil and United States.

McGahey was selected for national duty after fulfilling the ICC eligibility criteria for people who underwent male to female transition.
