Asia Cup 2023: Shreyas Iyer to get game time, KL Rahul to miss first two games says Dravid

THERE'S MIXED NEWS for Indian fans when it comes to injury updates.

Talking to the press before leaving for Sri Lanka to compete in Asia Cup 2023, Indian cricket team head coach Rahul Dravid said that KL Rahul, although progressing well, will not be fit for the first two matches in the continental championship. These matches will be against arch-rivals Pakistan and Nepal.

The good news is that Shreyas Iyer is finally making his national team comeback. Dravid said he has "ticked all the boxes" and can be expected to get some game time in Asia Cup.

If he is to make a comeback at such a big stage it's likely to be against one of the softer opponents like Nepal in the group stage.
