376 overseas players in Big Bash League draft, player pool increased
THE BIG BASH LEAGUE is coming back for its 13th season this December, and they are featuring a bigger player pool than ever.
A total of 376 foreign players have registered for the BBL draft, and it includes several big names from Pakistan as well.
With the BBL having a compact season from 7th December 2023 to 24th January 2024, directly following the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, it has created a convenient window for international player participation due to most of the national teams being on a break during that period.
Prominent players like Fakhar Zaman, Shadab Khan, Hanis Rauf and Mohammad Rizwan have registered for the draft. Afghan player Rashid Khan, who had previously boycotted the BBL after Australia refused to play a series against Afghanistan (due to the Taliban rule), is also named in the draft pool this time.
