Myneni enters quarters, Nagal dumped at Air Asia open
INDIA'S NO.2 SINGLES PLAYER, Saketh Myneni has successfully booked his place in the quarter-finals of the ATP challenger tournament in Bengaluru after beating Dane Propoggia 6-4, 7-6(9).
Myneni won quite a few cheap points on serve with 10 aces to his credit. Myneni was also successful at converting 3/7 break points and managed to keep the pressure on the Aussie.
Meanwhile, the 18 year old, Sumit Nagal lost a straight sets encounter 2-6, 6-7 (4) to no.5 seed Yannick Mertern from Belgium.
The Wimbledon junior doubles champions served poorly and could only convert 33% of his break points.
In the quarter-finals, the no.3 seed, Myneni will play the no.5 seed Mertern on Friday.
In another match, Indian qualifier Prajnesh Gunneswaran lost a tight three setter 2-6, 6-3, 3-6 to the no.1 seed Adrian Menendez-Maceiras of Spain.
Indians Somdev Devvarman and Sanam Singh are scheduled to play their second round matches tomorrow.
