Minister-cricketer Manoj Tiwary isn't retiring; wants to play one last Ranji Trophy for Bengal

MANOJ TIWARY IS NOT retiring, after all.

The former Indian international, who has the unique distinction of being an active cricketer as well as a state's Sports Minister, recently announced his retirement.

But just days later, he has decided not do quite playing cricket just yet. Speaking to reporters, the Minister-Cricketer said,

"The decision to retire was an emotional one... but I want to play one more season of cricket. I don't want to play white ball cricket any more, I'll just focus on the red ball... I want to represent Bengal in the Ranji Trophy one last time."

Tiwary wants a fairytale end to his long first class career by helping Bengal win the Ranji Trophy.

So Indian cricket will have the distinguished honour of having a sitting minister as an active player for one more season.
