Lanka Premier League 2023: Kandy crush the Kings, Wahindu wows with both bat and ball

B-LOVE KANDY ARE bouncing back hard in Lanka Premier League, led by their bowling line-up.

Tonight they got the best of defending champions Jaffna Kings, picking up their second win on the trot after two straight losses.

Wahindu Hasaranga (3/9) absolutely dominated with the ball, helped in no small measure by Nuwan Pradeep (3/36) and Angelo Mathews (2/8 in 2 overs).

he Jaffna battling line up could never get going, and despite Dunith Wllalage (38 not out off 27) putting up a fight late in the game, their score at the end of 20 overs read 117/9.

And when it came to chasing the target down, Wahindu Hasaranga (52 not out off 22) yet again was destruction incarnate. His single handed slam dunk performance ended the game in just 13 overs, with Kandy winning by 8 wickets.

The way Kandy are performing right now, they look nothing like the shaky starters they were in the first couple of matches. And a win over the three time champs - the only champions in Lanka Premier League history - sends a message that shakes up the league.
