The Hundred: Four matches washed away by pouring rain

IT WASN'T JUST the Durand Cup that had to contend with heavy rains today.

The Hundred, the new-format cricket competition in England, got it worse as four matches - two men's games and two women's games - were wased away due to rain in Manchester and Birmingham.

Manchester Originals were supposed to host London Spirit at the Oval, while Birmingham Phoenix were taking on Trent Rockets at Edgbaston Cricket Ground. But both the venues, about 138 kilometers away from each other, saw heavy rains that washed out both the double headers.

All of the four teams involved in these fixtures, who all lost the first matches of their campaigns, picked up 1 point each and finally got off the mark in the men's and women's points tables.
