Lanka Premier League 2023: Mendis mends Dambulla's form, secures win against Colombo
DAMBULLA AURA PICKED UP their second win of the season, beating Colombo Strikers by 10 runs.
Dambulla started out with a good innings, led by Kusal Mendis (87 off 46) and Sadeera Samarawickrama (59 off 35). For Colombo, Matheesha Pathirana (3/31) and Naseem Shah (2/21) did most of the heavy lifting with the ball, but nonetheless, Dambulla got to a solid 192/6.

In reply, Colombo maintained a good amount of consistency but many of the Dambulla bowlers like Noor Ahmad (2/34) and Hayden Kerr (1/27) managed to keep their scoring rate in check. And each run saved proved to be crucial as despite Nuwanidu Fernando (56 not out off 39) and Baad Azam (41 off 24) doing their best, they didn't go past 182/4.
The win puts Dambulla in the second place in the points table, with 4 points from 4 matches. Colombo, however, are in jeopardy at the bottom of the table, with 2 points from 3 matches.
