Lanka Premier League 2023: Jaffna Kings continue their rule, beat Galle by 8 wickets
DUNITH WELLALAGE PRACTICALLY got a single handed win for Jaffna Kings over Galle Titans, propelling his team to the top of the table.
A destructive bowling spell where he gave away just 10 runs in 4 overs and picked up 4 wickets defined the match, as the Galle batting line-up collapsed to 117/9 in the 20 overs. Not many other than Dasun Shanaka (30 off 24), Shevon Daniel (25 off 25) and Lasith Croospulle (19 off 12) managed to put up a fight.
Jaffna got to the target easily, in just 12.4 overs. Ramhmanullah Gurbaz (54 off 39) and Towhid Hridoy (44 not out off 23) got the majority of the job done in their 8 wicket victory.
Jaffna have won all three previous editions of the Lanka Premier League and if early signs are anything to go by, they are well on their way to a fourth title here.
