Lanka Premier League 2023: Kandy back to winning ways beating Dambulla

B-LOVE KANDY HAVE picked up a crucial win over Dambulla Aura in the Lanka Premier League.

Coming into the game with zero wins to their name, Kandy needed to produce a result to save their campaign from an early implosion and they have done it in style.

Batting first, Dambulla put together a total of 156/6. Dhananjaya de Silva (61 off 39) was the star of their batting line-up, but the star of the innings was Mujeeb Ur Rahman (2/17) who wrote the script on how to contain their batters.

In reply, Kandy got to their target with an over and a half to spare. Dinesh Chandimal (48 off 29) got them started, and Angelo Mathews (28 not out off 20) finished the job, without allowing the fall of wickets be a problem.

Kandy are still at the bottom of the table. They are not out of the woods yet when it comes to the playoffs race, but they are off to a good start when it comes to turning things around.
