ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: No e-tickets; fans must carry printouts

PEOPLE WHO BUY ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 tickets online can't enter the stadium with soft copies on their phones.

BCCI General Secretary Jay Shah has said that e-tickets won't be allowed at stadium gates; fans must print out their tickets on paper to gain entry.

The reason behind this decision appears to be the long lines that tend to form in the gates when e-tickets are being used; because scanning and verifying e-tickets from phone screens which may have different screen sizes, brightness and contrast settings, takes a lot longer.

However, printing tickets out on A4 size papers eliminates size and brightness differences. So they can be scanned faster, and the line can also move quicker as fans gain smoother entries into the stadium.

The online ticket sales for ICC World Cup matches will begin on 10th August.
