Major League Cricket 2023 HIGHLIGHTS: Texas Super Kings in playoffs beating SFU

TEXAS SUPER KINGS ensured a place in the Major League Cricket with a win over San Francisco Uniocorns.

Batting first, SFU got to a total of 171/8 courtesy Matthew Wade (49 off 30) and Chaitanya Bishnoi (35 off 21) but they were impeded in their effort to put a really big score on the board by Gera Coetzee (4/31), Mictchell Santner (2/30) and Daniel Sams (2/47) who kept taking wickets and destablilizing the innings at regular intervals.

When Texas came out to chase, Daniel Sams once again emerged as the hero with his stormy 42 run innings off just 18 balls. He along with Milind Kumar (52 off 42) took TSK to their target with 5 balls to spare, despite the destructive effective spells from Haris Rauf (2/32) and Liam Plunkett (1/20).

SFU have finished their league campaign with 4 points from 5 matches with a net run rate of -0.303. It's unlikely they will get a place in the playoffs at this point; unless MI New York lose to Seattle Orcas by a really large margin that brings their NRR of +1.319 (best in the league) down.

For Texas Super Kings, it's a win that seals their place in the playoffs; thanks to the 6 points next to their name. They have a better NRR than Washington Freedom, who also finished on 6 points, so a top three finish is guaranteed for TSK regardless of what happens in the last league stage game between Seattle and New York.
