Major League Cricket HIGHLIGHTS: Saurabh destroys San Francisco to save Washington

SAURABH NETRAVALKAR DELIVERED one of the fiercest bowling performances of the season, as Washington Freedom bundled off San Francisco Unicorns at the Church Street Park.

Batting first, things didn't go Washington's way. Haris Rauf (3/20) and Liam Plunkett (2/24) kept a right lid on things on behalf of the Unicorns. Moise Henriques (30 off 27) and Obus Pienaar (29 off 28) stabilised the innings the best they could; and Washington managed to put together a measly 133/8 in 20 overs.

Although coming in to bat San Fancisco Unicorns had the advantage of having a low target, their batsmen got blindsided by Netavalkar's destructive spell. From the get go, he was effective; not allowing any SFU batter to settle down. Despite Corey Anderson's (34 off 34) best efforts, their innings collapsed at just 103.

When all was said and done, Netravalkar had picked up 6 wickets, giving away just 9 runs.

This win has sent Washington up to the second place on the points table, with 3 wins to their name from 4 matches. San Francisco are 4th; still in the playoff race with 2 wins from 4 games.
