Soon they had achieved a landmark record; the highest opening partnership for India in West Indies in Test matches.

Jaiswal, showing immmense maturity, handled the fast bowlers of West Indies with patience and soon reached his century; hitting twelve boundaries along the way.

Rohit Sharma, on the other end, also produced a knock to remember, completing his own century. He fell to Alick Athanaze at 103 from 221 delivieries; bringing their marvelous opening partnership to a conclusion at 229 runs.

With India set to establish a substantial first innings lead here, this opening partnership may just have delivered the match to India.

At stumps on day two, India have reached 312/2. Jaiswal is still on the crease undeterred at 143 from 350 balls. A big attraction on the third day for Indian cricket fans is whether or not he can actually get a double century on his debut.
