Allegations against Prithvi Shaw made by Sapna Gill "false and unfounded", says police

THE MUMBAI POLICE have informed a court that the allegations made against Indian and Delhi Capitals player, Prithvi Shaw, by a social media influencer, Sapna Gill, is "false and unfounded".

Gill had said that during a brawl in a pub in the city Shaw had molested her. However, the police, who submitted the report of the investigation into the matter said this was incorrect.

Gill had complained that Shaw had touched her inappropriately during an argument between them. The argument had led to an attack on Shaw and the influencer had been arrested, but was subsequently released on bail.

Meanwhile, Gill's lawyer has asked permission from the court to permit him to show video footage of the incident. This footage had gone viral immediately after the incident.
