Ravichandran Ashwin praises MS Dhoni's captaincy style, cosistency with his players

RAVICHANDRAN ASHWIN has praised MS Dhoni's leadership style, in the wake of India's loss in the World Test Championship final.

Ravichandra, who was not included in the squad despite being the highest ranked bowler and second highest ranked all-rounder in the world, recently spoke about Dhoni on his youtube show while addressing fans' concerns about players being dropped too often,

"Lot of us talk about MS Dhoni's leadership. What did he do? He kept it very simple. Under his regime, where I also played, he will pick a squad of 15. The same squad of 15 and the XI will play throughput the year. That sense of security is very important for a player."

Ashwin played for several years under Dhoni's captaincy; including in the ICC ODI World Cup of 2011 where India won and the ICC Champions Trophy of 2013 where Ashwin was entrusted with the final over, and he successfully restricted England to help India win the trophy. He also played for Chennai Super Kings for 7 years, where Dhoni was the captain as well.

India have not won a single ICC trophy since then.
