IPL 2018: 53 cricketers from Tamil Nadu register for Players Auction

AS MANY AS 53 CRICKETERS from Tamil Nadu have registered for the upcoming IPL Players Auction that is scheduled to be held in Bengaluru on January 27 and 28.

The bunch includes a number of players who have featured in the Tamil Nadu Premier League over the past two years. Heading the state’s list are the five capped cricketers namely – R Ashwin, Dinesh Karthik, Murali Vijay (all at a base price of Rs 2 crore), Washington Sundar (Rs 1.5cr) and Abhinav Mukund (Rs 50 lakh). 

T Natarajan, who stole the limelight in last year’s auction by stealing a Rs 3 crore bid from Kings XI Punjab, will enter the auction at a base price of Rs 40 lakh. TN limited-overs skipper Vijay Shankar will also be slotted at the same base price.

Capped: R Ashwin, Dinesh Karthik, M Vijay (Rs 2 cr); Washington Sundar (Rs 1.5cr); Abhinav Mukund (Rs 50 lakh);

Uncapped: Vijay Shankar & T Natarajan (Rs 40 lakh); Ganapathi Chandrasekar (Rs 30 lakh);
