YOU DON'T PRACTICE, YOU DON'T SUCCEED

YOU DON'T PRACTICE, YOU DON'T SUCCEED

Much to the shock of everybody, the Indian team opted to not play a single warm-up game before the first Test in South Africa. Traditionally, a touring team always plays a game or two (practice) to get acclimatised to the foreign conditions. But the Indian team surprisingly chose to enter the first Test in Cape Town without any practice at all. While warm-up games don't guarantee results, it certainly helps the travellers to get used to the conditions. After watching the proceedings at Newlands, it was evident that the tourists were clearly caught unprepared, much to the dismay of their fans and former cricketers. Sure, Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri like to innovate and play a fearless brand of cricket. But skipping their warm-up game, was downright stupid. At least, the defeat will always indicate that.
