BROAD & THE CROWD

BROAD & THE CROWD

Australia has never been an easy place to tour for any cricketer, regardless of his colour, creed or race. Over the years, we have seen the best of them crumble to the non-stop chants and abuses of the unruly Aussie crowd. Remember how Michael Holding and his colleagues were bullied in the 75/76 series???

Moving onto this series, England pacer Stuart Broad is once again about to experience the wrath and hostility of the Aussie Fanatics. Ever since the lanky seamer cheated back home at Trent Bridge in 2013 (didn't move despite nicking the ball), the Aussie cricketers and their fans have been determined to make life extremely uncomfortable for the Englishman Down Under. During the 2013/14 series summer in Australia, Broad was humiliated in the press and the crowd. Interestingly, Broad has also taken more wickets and scored more runs against Australia than any other team. It will be an intriguing battle once again (from Gabba to the SCG) between the seething crowd and the not-so-innocent 6 ft 5 in bowler.
