Ravi Shastri to make whopping Rs 8 crore per annum as India's head coach

THE BCCI has decided to pay its new head coach Ravi Shastri a whopping salary of close to Rs 8 crore per annum.

It was learnt that the BCCI top brass was unanimous in their decision on Shastri’s perks, which is at least a crore more than previous coach Anil Kumble‘s salary of Rs 6.5 crore. The three other coaches — Bharat Arun, R Sridhar and Sanjay Bangar are expected to bag around Rs 2,3 crore taking into account that they need to be compensated for foregoing their IPL contracts.

The board had earlier appointed Zaheer Khan as bowling coach and Rahul Dravid as overseas batting coach. However, following Shastri’s demand to appoint his own support staff, the board appointed Bharat Arun as bowling coach, Sanjay Bangar as an assistant coach and R Sridhar as fielding coach.
