Amol Gupte is yet to finalize on who will play the role of Saina in her biopic but states that his research is in full swing

DIRECTOR AMOL GUPTE is in full swing with his research work on Saina Nehwal as he is set to make a biopic on the former World No. 1 shuttler.

This news broke out in December 2015 and according to Bollywood Hungama, since then Amol has been meeting close associates of Saina and her family. He also spend some days watching Saina play and gathered videos to understand her character better.

The 'Taare Zameen Par' director also hailed Saina's family for their cooperation and support towards his work. He stated that he was received warmly by the family and also treated with parathas which happens to be the shuttler's favourite dish.

Talking about the movie, he said that the film will be a journey of Saina from her childhood to her playing days and her capturing achievements at the top level.

He calls it a story of a 'tigress beti' instead of just a normal biopic.

But there is one thing he is uncertain of and that is the caste. He is looking for someone who not only can look like the shuttler but also learn and know the sport well.
