Saina Nehwal biopic on the cards, Amole Gupte to direct it
MOVIES ON SPORTS PERSONALITIES are an ongoing trend in Bollywood and director Amol Gupte (directed movies like Taare Zameen Par, Stanely ka Dabba, Hawa Hawai) is set to make a biopic on the womens' world no. 2 shuttler Saina Nehwal.
The shuttler shared the news on her official Twitter account, also posting pictures with the director. The director met Nehwal and her family at her hometown and discussed the details.

Earlier the All England Championship silver medallist was previously quoted saying that she "wouldn't mind" a biopic made on her life as long as it highlights badminton, rather than focusing on her. She has also said that she'd like it if Deepika Padukone could play her role and Shah Rukh Khan play the role of her coach.
She also stressed upon the point that she wants the film to get made not for personal glory, but to inspire young minds and encourage them to take up badminton. "I hope in the future we get many more badminton players," she told PTI, in December 2014.
The last biopic to be made was 'Mary Kom'.
