No Virat, no problem

After an incredible run of form that saw Kohli master New Zealand, England and Bangladesh, the India skipper hit a sticky patch in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Although Kohli captained aggressively in the first three Tests, he failed to produce the goods with the willow. However, we saw the rest of the top-order chipping in, in almost every game. While the Delhi-lad slumped, Pujara surged and made valuable contributions in every game. He was the highest run-getter for the hosts and was the defining feature of India’s series win. Kohli’s injury also saw KL Rahul provide a solid start in many innings as the young opener struck six half-centuries in the series. Murali Vijay and Ajinkya Rahane too chipped in at crucial moments. In the final Test, even though Kohli didn't take the field, India managed to win quite comfortably.
